Conference on Trafficking of Women, Forced Labor, and Children
A conference on trafficking of women, forced labor, and children will be organized at Chapman University, California on August 24 and 25, 2007.
The purpose of the conference is to promote public awareness, to exchange ideas, and to gather information from diverse perspectives that would be of use for effective policy making in combating human trafficking.
Co-organizers of the conference are Vietnamese Alliance to Combat Human Trafficking (VietAct), Vietnam Human Rights Network (VNHRN), and Vietnamese American Voters Association (VAVA). The conference is sponsored by Chapman University School of Law and American Association of University Women, Orange County Branch.
The conference has two main components:
- A welcome reception and fund raising dinner from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM Friday, August 24, 2007 at Anaheim Plaza Hotel: 1700 S. Harbor Anaheim, CA 92802. Fundraising returns are exclusively used to help victims of human trafficking in Vietnam.
- The conference itself on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Chapman University School of law, 1 University Drive, Orange, CA 92866. This Conference is open to public, and registration is free, but space is limited. Lunch will be provided by the conference. Seminars and workshops are conducted by experts in related fields such as services for victims/survivors, action for anti human trafficking, and public policy on human rights…
