US State Department: “Vietnam remains on the CPC list”

In a reply letter to the Vietnam Human Rights Network, Mr. James A. Gagnon, a director from the US Department of State explains that Vietnam and U.S. have reached an agreement about human rights, especially religious rights, in Vietnam following significant measures taken by Vietnam. However, as a result of persistent grave violations of freedom of religion in Vietnam, the US Department of State maintains Vietnam on the list of Country of Particular Concern.
